Hello there, everyone! Things have been a little quiet here at Miku;Zen for the past two weeks — still trying to adjust to work life. Having a job does sap the energy and time out of me. ^^;;

I'm sure there's lots going on in the world of Vocaloids, but if there's one thing that won't change, it's that they continue provide the opportunity to deliver more delicious music to the world. Here is one such attempt: a small little single from miumiu and Taishi, called Daydream Flight. And if you can't already tell from the cover art — this single features Aoki Lapis.

kz — Tell Your World (Single)

Just about 2 days ago, kz(livetune) released the full version of Tell Your World on iTunes. As expected, the single immediately soared to the #1 spot on the Japanese iTunes, which is no mean feat for the virtual diva, Miku.

If you haven't heard of Tell Your World, it is actually a song used for a Japanese Google Chrome ad that featured Miku in it. Check out the ad after the jump.

I'm sure you've noticed the lack of updates on Miku;Zen. My sincerest apologies for that! I have simply been very busy with work and my graduation stuff, so I haven't had much time to post over here, not to mention I've also been trying to help out over at VocaDB, although I haven't done much yet. ^^;;

Still, I'm just here to notify that I'll be extra busy for probably another two weeks. If I can slip in a short post, I would, but otherwise, please excuse the silence here on Miku;Zen! It's very unfortunate, as this means I'll really be missing out on VoM@s17, which will be held on 19th November.

Lastly, I'd just like to recommend you two albums: first is papiyon's Glorious World, a recent tasty album where papiyon's signature piano sounds really shine, and the second is FurukawaP's peams.E.P, which is bound to please FurukawaP fans.

If you've been following the updates on MikuDB, you will know that when they reached their 1000th upload, Zakudono revealed his ambitions to turn MikuDB into a more concise database where we, the users, can contribute by compiling information Vocaloid albums and songs into a dynamic database. Well, it turns out someone else already had something similar in the works, and this site has been revealed not too long ago!

Introducing to you, VocaDB!

If you've been waiting for a chance to help out, now is most definitely the time! The site is still in beta, so check it out, leave some feedback, and start helping out wherever you can. (:

Black★Rock Shooter anime PV!

Remember this? About two months ago, it was announced that there will be an anime series for Black Rock Shooter. Well, the time has finally come, as a PV has finally been posted!

While I am excited about this development, I am also somewhat skeptical. Having watched the PV, I am not very impressed with what I see. I want to be excited about this, but it's not really working out for me. I have absolutely no idea what to expect for the plot, and from what I see in the PV, it doesn't seem like it's going to interest me all that much.

~~Though I admit, hoodie BRS and megane Deadmaster are simply delicious.~~

Maybe it will grow on me once I watch additional PVs, or after the actual anime comes out.

So far, the BRS anime is slated to air in January 2012, spanning over 8 episodes, which is fewer than the usual 13-episodes.

Mikupa coming to AFA2011!

Guess what? For this year's upcoming Anime Festival Asia 2011 (AFA11), our leek-wielding virtual diva is going to be heading over to Singapore to give her fans a shower of Vocaloid goodness — Yes, you read that right, the Hatsune Miku Live Party 2011, also known as Mikupa 2011, is going to be happening in Singapore on November 11th!

This is a great chance for fans in Malaysia, Singapore and nearby places to get your butt over and swing glowing leek sticks as you listen to Miku perform your favourite songs live! As a Malaysian fan myself, I so wish I could be there, but I don't think I could slip into Singapore and leave my college mates to setup our graduation exhibition by themselves. Not to mention the money it's gonna cost me. ;__;

Besides listening to Miku, there's also the chance to hear Kalafina, FLOW, Itou Kanako, May'n, LiSA and other artists perform live. Even better, there's the opportunity of getting to meet Chiwa Saitou, the notable seiyuu of Homura & Senjougahara, and tonnes of other goodies that all anime fans shouldn't miss out. Mew's design revealed?

So, just in my previous post, one of the new Vocaloid3 that I introduced was Mew. Well, here's a short update — it seems that the above image is Mew's design! Or, as Yamaha would term it, this is Mew's "character visual." A rather different design compared to the rest of the Vocaloid family, eh? I appreciate it, though. It's a good breakaway. :)

Mew's voice supplier is Sakamoto Miu. If you haven't sampled Mew's voice yet, go here and listen to the last track, Line by Yuyoyuppe. The song is part of the album called THE VOCALOID produced by Yamaha, which will be released on September 14th (which is coming in just minutes!).

Hopefully we'll see more of Mew in the future!

Black★Rock Shooter: TG - First Impressions (UPDATED!)

What's that? It's not out yet? I know! Well, on unnamed sites, the game's ISO file has already been leaked, and many filthy stupid pirates are already hurting the game's sales two days early. However, having pre-ordered the game at Play Asia, I kind of thought to myself that it's alright to try it out a bit early, seeing as I've bought it. I searched up a guide, modded my psp, downloaded the game, and am trying it out as we speak, just so you know what to expect when ~~it is hopefully localized!~~

Mikubook!?

Just hours ago, the Hatsune Miku fan page on Facebook started sharing links to this newly launched website called Mikubook. Apparently what you get to do is browse through Vocaloid-related goodies on the website, and then favourite/recommend it for people to watch… Something like that.

It's still in very early beta, and I haven't registered yet, though I'm not sure if I'm excited about this. For one, why Mikubook? Rather than a name that seems to be a parody of Facebook, why not have a nicer name? Anyway, I've been browsing through the videos, and it seems the videos are just embedded from Youtube, meaning Mikubook is pretty much just a sharing/recommendation system so far.

Perhaps Mikubook is targeted towards the new Western Vocaloid fans? After all, Toyota is "promoting" Miku to the West, so it wouldn't be that big of a surprise to see websites like Mikubook help shape up the Western fanbase.

I sure as hell wish I am. I'm in Malaysia, not LA, and there's no way I'm gonna be in LA anytime soon.

For those who would be seeing the Miku concert, hope you guys enjoy it lots! For the rest of us, there is the possibility of free live streaming on Nico, similar to this year's Mikupa. What that means is that we'll probably see very small portions of the live streaming, unless we get links to live streams from other people on sites like Justin.TV or something. Of course, there is also the option of paying for the full live stream.

Anyway, apart from that, why not have some more Vocaloid music goodness, in the form of keeno, buzzG and Hanatan? All after the jump.

BRS The Game — BRS Character video

After releasing the highly attractive opening animation, it looks like the character video for BRS is now out. While not a gameplay trailer, this video lets us better gauge the in-game graphics as well as the voice acting.

I am wondering, though, that is BRS's voice, right? Not too happy about it... Maybe it'll grow on me?

Real Action Heroes BRS

I think she looks GREAT. She's slated to be released on November 25th 2011, and is supposedly going to cost us 22,000 yen. In Malaysian Ringgit that would be about RM800++, in USD that'd be about $268, and I don't think that's an amount that many of us can easily fork out.

She's already available for pre-order on Amazon and Rakuten. I just saw her going for as low as 15,780 yen, which is quite a large difference from the 22,000 yen that it's suppose to be. I wonder how is it possible?

At any rate, any of you eager to get your hands on her? I sure wish I could...

Unhappy Refrain now up!

wowaka's album, Unhappy Refrain, is now up! Get it here, get it now!

Even if you have many of the album tracks due to wowaka's previous albums (think: the monochrome disc, world 0123456789, Seven Girls' Discord) I find that it is still worth listening to the Unhappy Refrain versions due to the way they're remastered. Some actually sound pretty different, but I think the best part is that this time the recordings seem to be of better quality, not to mention the remixes by other producers. Highly enjoyable, especially if you haven't listened to wowaka's music in a while.

Enjoy the album, people! I know I most definitely will. Kudos, wowaka!

I'm so so so so so sorry about the long, long, long, LONG delay... A lot of things have been happening for me, but it seems that they're finally dying down, and I can get back to posting and talking about Miku, Gumi, and all our other Vocaloids and Producers, as well as sharing their magnificent works!

In some news before we start, we have lost two sources as of late, and one is uploading/sharing at a much slower rate. This means that while we are still fully capable of doing Miku;Zen Releases, it will be either much slower (Not as slow as this release was) or, we will do it by request.

You may request an album for us to translate etc., simply post your request in the comments, and supply any additional info you can on it. We will try to include it in the next release, usually once we've gotten about 10 albums minimum.

And that date is August 25th. 6 days before Miku's birthday, eh? Also revealed is the above White Rock Shooter charm, that looks similar to the CHANxCO style that BRS and Dead Master received. I believe there is also a BRS charm that is almost exactly like the WRS charm above, I just can't remember when or where I saw it...

I believe they'll be bundling the WRS charm together with the game, just like what they're doing with the WRS figma (which I so dearly want...)

Speaking of the WRS figma, I think this expression makes her look somewhat hilarious.

Anyone else looking forward to the game? I hope I'll get to play it once it's out! :)

Why didn't I find this sooner!?

Letting you guys know about Draw The Emotional aka Yuyoyuppe's second Touhou album, called Funny party in the Fog. ~~Such a wacky name, Yuppe!~~ It's going to be out on Reitaisai 8, which is on March 13th — just a few days to go! Most of the songs are by Yuyoyuppe, while track #7 and #8 (Cirno's Theme!) are done by MuryokuP. Some of the previous vocalists return too, such as Meramipop, F9, calo, and of course, Yuyoyuppe the man himself.

For those who do not know about Yuyoyuppe's previous Touhou album, Collapse of the Sky — you are really missing out on one of his best albums ever. Well, at least to me, it's like the Yuyoyuppe album to get. Do check it out if you can. :)

Rest assured I will keep my eyes peeled for this album!

I'm not sure how it got released, as Reitaisai 8 got cancelled due to the terrible earthquake and tsunami incident. Are you guys ready for it? The Hatsune Miku Live Party 2011 will be starting in about 2 hours! For those who're attending the concert — well, you probably won't be reading this... For those who will be watching the premium live broadcast of the entire event, good for you! As for the rest of us, hopefully the limited free broadcast would satisfy us. ~~(As if it will.)~~ If you want to watch the broadcast, but don't have a Nico account, you can learn how to make one here (or just google it up).

Some of the guest producers who will be gracing the event include 164, 40mP, buzzG, DECO*27, doriko and OSTER project. Be sure to catch the live broadcast if you can! If you can't, well, there's always the blu-ray release that should come sometime after the event.

Here's to hoping that this year's MikuPa will be just as successful as last year's. Happy 39 Day, everyone. ;)

Well now, it's already March! For those who don't know, JimmyThumbP's third album, Unplugged Stray, has already been released just about a week ago (23rd February). If you haven't bought it already, then you may do so now. Otherwise, this album has been generously shared by taggleburr, so get over there and start worshipping him!

In other news, my college assignments-cum-projects are all crashing down on me now, so I'm struggling to find time to keep Miku;Zen updated with more album reviews and news posts. Hope I'll be able to squeeze in some time for you guys whenever I can. ^^;;

With that said, there are a number of things to look forward to this month. Probably the most anticipated is Miku's live concert, MikuPa (which will receive limited live broadcast). As for new Vocaloid albums, just today, two albums have been released, and they are — 164's second album, Memory -164 from 203 Soundworks-, and a Vocaloid compilation album called VOCALO LOVERS. According to my previous post, wowaka's new album is also suppose to be out today, but being unable to find any more info about it (such as the album title and album art), I assume it got delayed or something. Perhaps some of you might know more about this?

Other albums to look forward to throughout March include buzzG's album Symphony (out on the 9th), Exit Tune's GUMism (16th) and, of course, supercell's second album Today Is A Beautiful Day (also 16th). Hopefully I didn't miss out on any other albums, and I'll see you guys next post!

Bringing to you, a collaboration single between Draw the Emotional (aka Yuyoyuppe) and AVTechNO!

The single consists of two AVTechNO! songs remixed by Yuyoyuppe, and the beautiful illustration is, as usual, by meola, the artist who has been responsible for pretty much all of the illustrations related to Yuyoyuppe's videos and album covers.

The single is now available on iTunes, so check it out and support the Vocaloid producers if you can! Otherwise, you can find the download link either at Cynthia's Blog, or on MikuDB.

Not all is good news, however, as you can see on Cynthia's post that this single would be the last of the Vocaloid music that she'll be sharing (due to copyright issues). As she's been a reliable source for high quality Vocaloid music, I really do hope she will be able to continue sharing more music with us. Please do leave a comment to thank her for her hard work, and to support her to continue what she's been doing all the while!

Here's to hoping that we would have more and more people who would share more Vocaloid music in the future!

Man, this must be the longest album title ever!

Following Gumi's dedicated album, Exit Tunes has also decided to present Gakupo an opportunity to rise up to fame. The album title is quite a mouthful — the official, full length title is「Exit Tunes Presents Kou Hyakka Ryouran Butoukai feat. Kamui Gakupo from Gackpoid」For convenience sake, I'll probably just refer to it as Exit Tunes Presents Gakupo. P:

As of now, no further information is available, apart from its release date, which is set to be April 20th. I'll make sure to update once the tracklist and album cover are released.

Seeing as how Gakupo could also receive an Append-like update in the form of Gakupo Extend (refer to here), hopefully these developments would have more producers making better use of him. Wouldn't hurt to listen to more male Vocaloid songs, don't you think? ^^

Hello Miku;Zen! I bring you good news. I am uploading and sharing all of my translated albums to make way for VOC@LOID M@STER 15 reviews and other tidbits. All albums will be in alphabetical order.

★★UPDATE #2: Fixes have been applied. Livetune naming is fixed, Album Artist tag for every album, other fixes mentioned in my 'Sad Miku' post. Please let me know if any links are still broken or mixed up.

My personal favorite albums will be labeled with a '★' and come with my personal recommendation. I will not be making reviews for all of these, but please post in the comments if you would like me to. I plan to review about 10 in the future.
