And hello to another great Vocaloid album!

Presenting to you today, the second album of the one and only wowakaP, an album called World 0123456789. Depending on your taste in music, this may very well be an incredibly impressive album for you to treat your ears to when you have the time. :)

If you haven't heard of wowaka(現実逃避P), then you'd best feast your ears (and perhaps your eyes too) on his legendary hit songs - which are Rolling Girl, Two-Faced Lovers (that even has a Kaito parody!), and World's End Dancehall. I discovered Two-Faced Lovers first, and then stumbled onto Rolling Girl after obtaining Exit Tune's Supernova 2, and finally got introduced to World's End Dancehall by sleepy. Not only are these great songs, but also come with nice PVs, and that really lends a helping hand to pushing up his video's popularity.

As of this post, World's End Dancehall has over 1.8 million views on NicoNico Douga. Coming close is Two-Faced Lovers at over 1.7 million views, and finally Rolling Girl at over 1.3 million views. Undeniably strong, solid figures indeed. And this is excluding all the spin-offs and other video uploads that follow! I'm sure that the view count will continue to rise, as more and more people catch wind of his amazing works.

The crossfade of the entire album. If you can't view Nico videos, then the Youtube link is here. It has pretty low quality though, which is why I used the Nico embed instead.

*omake = Bonus track

I've tried my best to romanize all tracks, and I believe all should be correct, except for Track 01, which I'm not 100% sure about, but I think that's how it's read.

Now, this album, World 0123456789 is wowakaP's second album. Nope, I haven't posted about his first album, but I intend to if I have the time. Anyway, in this album, almost all of the songs are either brand new (never released/uploaded onto Nico) or they are rearranged. The only exception is the second track, Tsumiki no Ningyou.

Among the unique traits of wowaka's music is his rendition of Miku's voice. I don't know how to describe it, but it's really different from a majority of P's out there, and that makes wowaka's songs stand out a lot. Just by listening to Miku's voice, you can very easily tell whether or not it is done by this amazing guy. Heck, it is probably safe to say that he applies the same treatment to all the other Vocaloids that he uses, which can be heard in this album, as it seems that he used Miku, Luka and GUMI, although the latter two aren't as prominent as Miku (especially GUMI - mostly used as a background singer I believe).

As for the kind of songs that he produces... I don't know how to categorise it. Maybe I should say Experimental? Eccentric? Unusual? His hit songs are undoubtedly amazing and popular, but his album songs have a different feel altogether - somehow even less generic, even more different. I am very impressed and am able to hum to almost the entire album, but that's for me - I believe that it really does depend on your taste as to whether or not you will love this.

Anyway! Enough with text! Here are the Youtube links:

01. 白塔
Hakutou

Track title translates into White Tower. Miku going "Oikakete~~" is very memorable and catchy. I did notice that this and Track 09 are basically the same songs, just having different arranges. Wonder why they're given two completely different names though?

02. 地盤沈下
Jiban Chinka

Song title means Subsidence. (wiki here) Note that it's sung by GUMI!?

03. 積み木の人形
Tsumiki no Ningyou

Track title roughly means Toy Blocks Doll. Tsumiki = a kind of toy building blocks, usually wooden (photos here). If you know mandarin, then you should know what 積木 is? Anyway, Ningyou = doll. I suck at naming, so I don't know how to make the English translation sound nice.

04. ゆらりふらり
Yurari Hurari

I like this track very much. Kinda feels like a lullaby, before the kick drums come in. Don't know what the title means though.

05. 少女について
Shoujo ni Tsuite

I am unsure about the translation of the song title. For the young lady (?) Shoujo = teen girl, actually. Tsuite can mean follow if used as "Tsuite iku" or "Tsuite kuru", but by itself, can also mean "regarding, about, for (something)". So... yeah. Bear with me as I try to improve my Japanese.

06. テノヒラ -retake-
Tenohira -retake-

Tenohira = Palm, as in the palm of your hand. This is a rearrange, with lower pitch overall. My favourite track for this album~ :) If interested, you may listen to the original song here.

07. 迷走花火
Meisou Hanabi

Track title means Stray Fireworks.

08. せかいのすべて
Sekai no Subete

Title literally means (The) World's Everything or Everything of the World. Nice track, too bad it's only about 2.5 minutes long.

09. 追いかける
Oikakeru

Song literally translates into Chasing after (something/someone). Basically the same song as Track 01, Hakutou. I kinda prefer Hakutou though.

The album can be found at Inakjib's Discography source. The link to that is in the Sources page at the top.

My source gave me a 10th track. Omake.

It's nothing but silence for 2 minutes, then an amazing piano/guitar/techno peice.

I wish I could shorten the silence down, but if you can find it, I highly recommend it.
